Magnetic Teapot
This is a pretty cool gong fu cha style teapot / decanter that has been around for the last ten years or so. Previous models used plastic center baskets for the brewing chamber which while functional, personally didn't sit well with me. Thankfully though, times have changed, and now the new model has ditched the plastic for high borosilicate glass that is super heat and cold resistant!

How it works:

You rotate the lid on the top which has a magnet tucked inside it, and it interacts on the stainless steel metal piston, pulling it up and out of the way. This then allows the tea to drain through a filter and into the bottom carafe for storage / service.

To Serve: you tip it over like a normal decanter and the tea in the bottom chamber pours out, flowing past the steeping basket.

Who’s this best for:
This model is a great option for those who would like gong fu style tea without the hassle of needing to learn how to use a gaiwan. This method of controlled extraction is the true secret in tea or tisane making, by ensuring that you don't over extract bitter and undesirable compounds by leaving the leaves in the hot water too long!

I find this model to be especially cool since you can see directly into the steeping chamber too as if you were using a magnifying–glass!
